Which
one to buy?
For
Massage Therapy:
I first started designing these products for use in my massage therapy
practice. The first one I made was approximately one by two feet (the
size of the Large Heat Therapy Pillow). This is by far the best size for
use massage therapy, as it is large enough to cover a good part of the
body, but still small enough to handle easily.
I use the pillows primarily to warm the shoulders and back. One is placed
across the shoulders, while a second is laid down the spine and over the
sacrum. I leave them on the back for about 5 minutes, while I either work
the back through the pillows, or work on the client's feet. Then I remove
the pillows from the back, and place one over each foot, or, one across
both feet and one across the back of the legs, to warm the legs while
I massage the back.
If the client tends to be cold, then once I finish the massage on the
back of the body and the client turns over, I will place one of the pillows
across the abdomen to help keep the client warm.
For personal use:
This is where all the different sizes come in.
For general relaxation of the back, the Large Heat Therapy Pillow is by
far the best, as it covers the largest area.
The
Large Heat Therapy Pillow is also excellent to use to warm the sheets
at night before you get into bed. (I do this every night. The body wrap
can serve this purpose as well.)
For a sore neck and shoulders, the Body Wrap is my favorite
. What
I really love about the Body Wrap is that you can drape it over the shoulders
and continue doing
whatever
working at your computer
reading
watching TV
even folding the laundry
. The shape
of it molds to your shoulders and the length and weight of it keep it
in place.
The Medium and Small Heat Therapy Pillows are best for applying heat to
specific areas, such as the sacrum, a specific knot on the back, or a
strained muscle. The Medium Heat Therapy Pillow can also be placed on
your chair or car seat, and the Small Heat Therapy Pillow can be used
to warm your hands when you've just come in from the cold.
(Please do not place any type of heat on red or inflamed areas without
first consulting your doctor!)
